March Mayhem & The Back Factor

I just finished a 3 month Self Expression and Leadership Course where I've developed an idea to empower people with Scoliosis to take the health of their backs into their own hands. Will it be a workshop, donation based studio or fundraiser? Who knows....but the wheels are in motion. Step 1: is to take control of my own scoliosis and start a rigurous program of pilates, yoga, dance, swimming, weights training and a healthy diet plan to get my curves in check and become as strong, flexible, healthy and straight as I can. I'm calling it March Mayhem!

I Heart Haiti (a fundraiser in 48 hours)

its not often you think you can make a difference with one phone call but in January Rebel and I proved it was possible by calling our favourite local 'The Yard, Santa Monica' (go there this weekend if you haven't been!) and organized a fundraiser for the people of Haiti in less than 48 hours. A big shout out to all our friends who showed up....we raised $1000!

Became a Model (High Priestess actually)

a childhood fantasy finally came true at 31 years of age when I was asked by a friend to not only pick my favourite female architype but model her for an exhibition to benefit amnesty international.....stay tuned for exhibition dates.

G'Day USA (my 7 year anniversary)

January 2010 marked the 7th year of my involvement in G'Day USA - Australia Week! phew! Public events, media lunches and consumer dinners in Los Angeles and San Francisco has kept me busy...i'm relieved but excited about where to take it next...

Moved to Venice (well almost)

What better way to start a new year than with new room mates, in a new apartment, in a new suburb....where I have always wanted to live. The boarder between Santa Monica and Venice, in the little pocket of boehemian Santa Monica, behind a large man made hill (the dirt to dig the venice canals had to go somewhere!) I found a quiet little street, full of character, neighbours you want to get to know, and walking distance to all the things I love - the beach, Groundworks Coffee shop, Wholefoods and Main Street Sunday Farmers Market. Its like Los Feliz and Silverlake by the sea. The first time in a long time I've been inspired to decorate (on a budget) with the things I have collected in my 10 years in LA.
